Eleven arrested at Carling Cup match
by Tom Rodgers Greater Manchester Police have reported that eleven people have been arrested in the lead up to tonight's Manchester United vs Manchester City Carling Cup semi-final second leg. United went into the tie (still to be decided by the time of posting) 2-1 down after ex-Utd star Carlos Tevez made Ferguson's blood boil with two goals in the first leg. There has been massive interest in this tie and a little bit of trouble could have been foreseen, but we're underway now. GMP also noted that: "The massive majority of fans have behaved very well." [Update] 9.39pm GMP have informed us that "Police have identified a man known to be connected with disorder at previous football matches. He has been removed from the crowd." via @gmpolice on Twitter.com Follow the links below to follow SalfordOnline's latest updates.
