Saddened to hear that Chris Sievey aka Frank Sidebottom has died after a battle with cancer.
I didn't know he was 54, I suppose the papier mache head aged him well.
I went to see him numerous times at Frog and Bucket in Manchester and in Buxton and he always made me laugh. You know he did.
Sadly missed, Chris/Frank RIP.

Don't be so snidy, Chris Sievey was a top bloke both with The Freshies and as Frank Sidebottom, he earned money, he spent money, he had three children and a wife and I assume a mortgage, why deny the man who gave so much pleasure to so many people a decent send off, you weren't forced to give, mind you, sound a right tight fisted git. its a joke that they had a whip round to pay for his funeral cant his3 children muster up a few grand,he lived in hale sell his house and have some dignity |

That's really sudden. I remember the news story in spring, that he'd just gone into Christie's, and he was saying he didn't really feel too bad and he'd had a cold over christmas that felt worse. RIP. |
