VELUX has developed a new and unique way of handling and transporting windows without pallets. Instead of stacking the windows on pallets they are glued and wrapped together in units of 7 or 14.

The advantages of the new VELUX Cube system are: Reduced transportation cost, faster handling in supply-chain, reduced damages and better and safer working environment. The system is implemented throughout the factories in the VELUX Group. It is one aspect of how the VELUX Group aims to implement smarter innovative solutions for the benefit of customers, employees and businesses.

VELUX has developed a new and unique way of handling and transporting windows without pallets.
With the old module system the products have to be packed on module pallets. During manual de-palleticing transport damage occurs. In addition the module pallets (reduce capacity in the lorry and) have to be returned to the production.
VELUX cube system is configured at the end of the production line. After production the windows are combined in units of 7 or 14.
A special glue is then applied to the box liner before the boxes are joined together. This is necessary to secure the stability of the bulk stock during any point of the production and storage process.
The windows are wrapped for further stability and protection against dirt. The cube also receives tape stripes at the back of the foil package to protect it from being damaged during the pallet less transport.
The system allows the windows to be stocked standing with or without pallets – or laying on pallets in a rack system. The advantages of the new VELUX Cube system are reduced transportation cost, (faster handling in supply-chain,) reduced damages and better and safer working environment.
The special glue between the window units allow single windows to be removed easily and simply – and the cube has served its' purpose.
