Video: Happy Days for Collette's 50s collection
Collette Costello's new 50s-and-60s inspired collection has given the Salford designer something to smile about.

Her vintage range has just been accepted into Heaton Moor's stylish Moo Boutique; including prom dresses and more casual wear.

Recently relaunched after a difficult period, her online shop seems to be going from strength to strength, and it is great to see that the north-west economy can support independent Salford fashion designers.

Educated at St Ambrose High School, Collette started the business in 2008 with a "Victorian Salford" collection, taking inspiration from the famous Larkhill Place at Salford Museum and Art Gallery.

We met up in Eccles to talk about her news and to find out what makes this

"My first love is fashion, explains Collette, "and having access to factory production has really taken the business forward.

"It can be a tough job trying to get independent creations into the marketplace, but you just have to stay positive and not let yourself be put off."

It's been a hard couple of years for the Salford Quays start-up.
Beginning a company just as the global recession hit has made life difficult for this 28-year old entrepreneur, but she's stayed positive and is now starting to see some revenue for her troubles.

Working for a commerical designer for high-street brands allowed Collette the time to get good experience in the fashion world whilst keeping her business going part-time. With the relaunch in hand, Collette back where she wants to be now, focusing on her range full-time.

Collette Costello's vintage range is available from the link below. £50-£85.
