Video: Success for Salford Business Expo 2011
by Tom Rodgers
The first annual Salford Business Expo went off with a bang at the Worsley Marriott Hotel and Country Club on Friday. Opened by the Chief Executive of Salford City Council Barbara Spicer, the business-to-business exhibition brought together 50 exhibitors from across the local area: a fantastic result for SalfordOnline. Representatives from every sector of the business community joined together to network, make contacts and sound out potential leads. And alongside seminars on intellectual property, social media and business crime, visitors enjoyed shows from rising corporate entertainment stars A Taste of Cairo and Pole Sessions. The focus of the Expo was on small and medium-sized businesses buying and selling locally. Among the VIPs visiting the event was the Shadow Minister for Business and Regional Growth, Gordon Marsden, who said: "It's an important theme at a time when some of the institutions like skills partnerships aren't there any more. "I'm glad that SalfordOnline have taken up the initiative and I hope this gets a regular place in the business calendar." MPs Barbara Keeley and Hazel Blears also threw their weight behind the event, praising the collaborative spirit of the Salford Business Expo. A big thank you to all our exhibitors, guests and visitors, and we look forward to a bigger and better event in 2012. See the link below for more details
