Salford businesses scoop prestigious customer service awards
Three businesses based in Salford have each won a Swift Award - an award recognising the best local businesses across the UK for providing fast and effective customer service.
Kent Street Motors, an independent car garage in Salford, was chosen along with two other businesses following a judging session which assessed a shortlist of 10 companies and retailers in the area. The tough criteria investigated how each business sets prices, resolves complaints, retains loyal customers and exceeds expectations. All three firms will now be featured on www.SwiftRelief.co.uk, a unique online directory highlighting Britain’s best local businesses. The 2011 Salford winners are: · Kent Street Motors, of Kent Street · Seedley Pets, of Langworthy Road · Wharf Motors, of Mode Wheel Road South Mr Wynn, owner of Kent Street Motors, commented “I do everything I can for my customers. I have plenty of years of experience so I know that the work I do is of good quality and exactly what the customer needs. You’ve got to make sure you never waste the customer’s time and give them the best service you can.” Tina Shortle, marketing director of online insurance company, swiftcover.com, which sponsors the Swift Awards, explains the thinking behind the awards. She said: “Organisations like pet stores and garages rarely win awards, despite being vital businesses within the community – but uncovering hidden gems in Salford is what the Swift Awards are all about. “As the current economic climate increases pressure on local businesses we have been delighted to see that many organisations have turned their attention to improving service in order to retain customers and better their businesses. We wanted to find those businesses in Salford that were providing great service to the local community and our judges were inspired by the dedication and enthusiasm of all of our winners, who frequently exceed the call of duty.” Another company to win special commendation was Seedley Pets. The owner, Mrs Yendall, believes that customer service has to be a priority: “I’m always here ready for my customers. I can take the time that the customer needs to make sure they get the pet or the supplies that they want. We have a local customer base and people recommend my shop because they know that I will be serving them.” The organisers of the Swift Awards are calling on more businesses from Salford to put themselves forward for the awards scheme. To be considered for the award, businesses can either nominate themselves or encourage customers to nominate them via the official awards site www.swiftrelief.co.uk. There is no fee to enter.
