Lowry Outlet Mall, Salford, delivers as the dining destination of the Quays
Lowry Outlet Mall today announced that sales at its Plaza restaurants are up by a massive 13% YOY, and that’s without factoring in sales from the Mall’s latest signing, the Harvester Restaurant. This is seen as a boost for the Mall, and an indication that it’s continuing to deliver by providing customers with an expanding and extensive retail and leisure mix. Hot on the heels of the new signing, the Mall reports on its strong sales performance; stating that every one of its Plaza restaurants is up on sales year on year. Footfall at the Mall has had a significant rise and is up 9.3% year on year. Footfall figures for the Plaza entrance alone is up a whopping 29.3% YOY, which is a result of more workers coming from both Trafford Wharf direction across the bridge and MediacityUK, which houses companies such as the BBC, SIS and Salford University. The success of the Mall’s strong footfall figures and outperforming retail and leisure categories has also been down to a targeted marketing strategy, a surge in new openings and a superior restaurant offering at the Mall. The Plaza restaurants include Pizza Express, Bella Italia, Lime, Café Rouge, Pond Quay and the new Harvester Restaurant. Martin Grady, Manager at Harvester Restaurants says: “We have only been open just over a week, and are thrilled with the performance figures of our new restaurant. Since opening at the Mall on December 6, we have hit the ground running, and have achieved our set weekly sales targets. We’re excited to be part of this development in such a thriving, local community and are looking forward to things to come at the Lowry Outlet Mall!” The Mall’s diverse retail and leisure offering has proved invaluable in attracting customers. Not only does it offer up to 60% off rrp, which in today’s economic climate gives customers quality brands for less, but it also has an on-site Vue Cinema, Virgin Active Health Club and it offers shoppers and diners a period of free parking. In addition to this, the Mall benefits from substantial secondary footfall from the likes of the Lowry Theatre and Manchester United Football Club. In an intensely competitive market, the Mall has managed to sustain its footfall and what’s more, development in the Salford Quays area will mean that this footfall will only continue to increase. Robert Hallworth, Centre Manager says: “The Lowry Outlet Mall’s Plaza restaurants have performed way above expectations for 2011. The strong anchor restaurant brands on the Plaza continue to appeal to our loyal customer base as well as attracting those who are new to the region. Our restaurant profile is ideally suited to the growing numbers of workers and residents at MediaCityUK. Our strong performance shows that the Mall is at the very heart of the local community, and the solid performance of our restaurants establishes us as the dining capital of the Quays” For more information visit www.lowryoutletmall.com or follow us on Twitter @lowryoutletmall Source: Mason - Williams PR.
