AVIT ? (the Adventure Volunteers Initiative Team)
AVIT ? (the Adventure Volunteers Initiative Team) is a group of volunteers who help to deliver adventurous activities to children and young people from Salford. All members of AVIT are outdoor enthusiasts who give their time in various ways, from supervising Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition groups to teaching archery and kayaking. The team is managed by its members; they meet on Monday evenings at the Deans Youth Centre in Swinton to develop their own training skills and plan for forthcoming activity sessions they will deliver, and they also have the odd social too!
If you would like to join AVIT contact Stuart Gibbon at the Deans Youth Centre on 0161 794 1088 or at deans.yc@btconnect.com.

Chinese Exercise - Swinton
At our club we learn 'Weihai Li Shi Quan Fa', which might be a mouthful, but it's an easy to swllow integrated Family System from China, including soft style self defence, Tai Chi, Chinese Yoga and much more. We also gain National Certification from The National Open College Network for job-skills and life-skills learned through the exercises (unbelievable, but true!). Good for the CV, for getting onto Adult Ed. learning programmes or for your own self-confidence. We do 'Weihai' for our health - it boosts your energy, gives deep relaxation, more co-ordination, balance and overall fitness. Plus, we laugh a lot and have fun so it lifts your spirits.
