Ericsson 4 Escape Punishment

Ericsson 4, the current leader of the Volvo Ocean Race, faced an independent race jury today to answer a protest by the race measurers after they were accused of breaking race rules.

The jury decided, however, that Ericsson 4 will not be penalised under the protest filed by the Rule Management Group against the team. The International Jury found the team was not obliged to inform the Measurers of changes made to the bow of its boat, and therefore the team had not broken a rule.
