International Pizza Expo Kicks-Off in Las Vegas
There are over 70 thousand pizza restaurants in the US alone. But every March thousands of pizzeria owners and operators from across the world pack the Las Vegas Convention Center for the International Pizza Expo. The event, which caters to the 38 billion dollar a year industry, includes numerous culinary competitions, demonstrations, free samples and over-the-top contests like Extreme Pizza Tossing. Exhibitors and educational sessions also feature the latest ideas in pizza making and personalization. And new gadgets like mobile pizza apps for the iPhone and Android are also on display.Although pizza is the big cheese at the expo, visitors can also see everything from wings, bbq, appetizers and more.
