Mark Macready: Salford's new horror hero

Reporter: Adam Brown
Camera: Tony Thornborough/Tom Rodgers

At the Salford Trinity Church, SalfordOnline's intrepid crew met up with Salford filmmakers Sean Candon, Ryan McDermott and Paul Feeney along with their cast, to get the lowdown on their new horror comedy, Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders.

They hope that it kicks off a new wave of films that are a bit different to the gritty dramas for which the city is rightly famous.

Ryan said: "The film's been hailed as “a British Hellboy” by US film website Joblo.com, and we shot it entirely on location in Salford and the surrounding area. The budget was raised independently, no schemes or funding were received and over sixty people from across the city worked on the film."

The film is set to tour the UK and US film festivals during 2009/2010.
