   Ciderfest by Salford students for kids cancer

Students plan to hold a new cider festival to raise money for children's cancer charity KidsCan. On Wednesday 24th March, students from Salford University will sell 14 varieties of the apple-based memory confuser, and promise apple-bobbing, and a 'Jukebox DJ', meaning if you like a song, you can donate to have it played. If you hate a song, you can donate to have it taken off the stereo. It sounds like democracy in action, if you ask me. There will also be a raffle of prizes kindly donated by local companies and businesses. Daniel Webster, fundraiser at Salford charity KidsCan, said: "It’s great to get the students on campus involved in our first Ciderfest! "Over the past 7 years students across the country have given us tremendous support raising money for KidsCan and spreading awareness of our research into childhood cancers. "We receive no statutory funding and therefore the support from students is invaluable. "If you cannot attend our ciderfest why not donate the cost of a pint (£3) by texting “KidsCan” to 81400."
