Video: Rabbits at the Rainbow Rooms, Eccles
by Tony Flynn

Manchester and Salford district branch of the RSPCA held a rabbits and guinea pig roadshow at The Rainbow Community Centre, Liverpool Road, Eccles on Saturday.

Suzie Hughes the Branch Manager for Manchester and Salford was in charge of the event, which was attended by dozens of pet lovers who had brought their pets for a free health check which included dental care (honestly), nail trimming, grooming and general health care.

On hand was Molly Varga an exotic pet vet, Gillyan Prime and the aptly named Sarah Pellett from the RSPCA who helped examine and give advice to local pet owners.

I was particularly impressed with a huge white rabbit called "Nymb", owned by Michael Blissett who told me that it was dwarf lop white rabbit, wonder what a giant one looks like?

Other animals to be treated were two hamsters called "Sausage" and "Ruddy" owned by Lisa Wilson, one of which had its nail trimmed and proceeded to nip the vet at every occasion.

I was told that the Mayor of Salford was due to attend, sadly I did no see him which would would have made a great photo oppourtunity of him holding a rabbit with the caption, "Who framed Roger Lightup"....
