Norad Tracks Santa in Google
Every year since 1955, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has tracked Santa Claus as he travels the world, delivering gifts to well-behaved children. This year Google has joined the fun, and starting at 4AM EST on December 24th, anyone can track Santa's trip in Google Earth. To mark the occasion, Google has created a series of videos that show Santa in Google Earth as he visits various locations around the world. Spice up your holiday newscasts by zooming in from space to see Santa as he travels through places like Athens, Greece and Kowloon, Hong Kong. Don’t be a Grinch! Because the "NORAD Tracks Santa" Web site is advertised as providing "live" digital feeds on Christmas Eve, please do not broadcast any of the footage before its scheduled time on December 24th. After the time indicated on each video, however, it can be replayed at any time. Your viewers can continue to track Santa themselves by going to www.noradsanta.org. All they need to do is download Google Earth if they haven’t already, and then download a special Santa-tracking file.
