Broughton fire crew at Prestwich pub fire
An outdoor heater caused a fire outside a pub in Prestwich just before midnight on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. A 36-year-old man suffered burns to his right hand following the fire outside the White Horse Pub in Bury New Road. Firefighters from Broughton Fire Station dealt with the fire which completely destroyed an industrial-sized parasol and damaged a set of table and chairs belonging to the pub. A heater had been accidentally switched on and set fire to the umbrella. The man was treated at the scene by firefighters and paramedics but refused hospital treatment. Source: GMF.
