Salford firefighters attend city centre flat fire
Two fire engines from Manchester Central and one from Salford Fire Station attended a fire at a fourth floor flat in Manchester city centre just after 4am. On arrival at the address at India House, Whitworth Street, firefighters found a fire involving a grill pan left on an electric cooker. Using breathing apparatus, a jet hose and a smoke removal fan, crews extinguished the flames. Three males - who had all escaped the premises before firefighters arrived - were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation at the scene and two were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for further treatment.
