Salford Fire Crew remember Armistice Day
Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) will mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday by attending ceremonies across Greater Manchester.
Today, an Armistice Day wreath laying service took place close to GMFRS Headquarters at Agecroft Road War Memorial at 11am. On Remembrance Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 11am, men, women and children all across the country will hold two minutes silence to remember the millions who have died in conflict. As part of this act of remembrance, GMFRS will again take part in parades and wreath laying ceremonies across Greater Manchester, including the Remembrance parade and service in Manchester City Centre, where County Fire Officer Steve McGuirk and Control Crew Manager Jane Gerrard will lay a wreath. GMFRS representatives will also attend key Remembrance events in London and Sunderland. On both Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, the Union Jack flag will be flown at half-mast between sunrise and sunset at GMFRS sites. 1 Due to problems with spam only SalfordOnline members can now leave comments.
