Fire Service Museum Christmas open day
The museum is throwing open its doors for visitors to get up close to the wonderful collection of historic fire service memorabilia, equipment, uniforms, medals and more. Between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, December 11, 2011, adults and children alike are welcome to join staff and volunteers at the museum on Maclure Road, Rochdale, OL11 1DN. Adults and children can be shown around the museum, based in a former fire engine workshop, and the vast collection will be explained by the dedicated staff and volunteers - giving visitors a real flavour of the history of GMFRS and how we developed into the service we are today. There will also be face painting, gifts for children, rides and seasonal stalls - and Father Christmas is expected to make a special appearance. Source: GMF.
