Police Warn about Foreign Lottery Scam operating in Manchester Area Police have received information that Foreign Lottery Scams are continuing to operate in the Manchester area. It follows a recent incident in Tameside , where an older lady was persuaded to send several large amounts of cash via ''Western Union'' payments in order to claim a lottery prize from Canada. She received letters and telephone calls instructing her to send cash so that money could be released and transported to her. Please remember if you haven't entered a Lottery draw there is no way you could have won anything. Don't engage with any such scams and remember dont send cash or give details of your personal bank accounts out to anyone you don't know.
