Walkden and Irlam's Oth Height Suffer rise in insecurity burglaries
This is normally a problem in the summer months, but for some reason it's happening now

Residents are being urged to check that their back/patio doors are locked, even if they are at home. Salford Police have seen a significant increase in burglaries where offenders have simply walked in to people's homes through an unlocked door. One incident occurred where a resident was cooking in the kitchen and an offender by passed the security light and entered through the open patio door. We don't want to feel like you're in a prison, but if you are not in a particular room, make sure the door is locked! As we have said many times before, there is a significant chance that your insurance company won't pay out..which is a double whammy for you.
