Bogus callers in Higher Broughton warning
Salford Police today released details of bogus callers operating in the Higher Broughton area of Salford. Further details below.

Two unknown offenders knock on front door, which is answered. 1st male states ‘we’ve come to check the system” and asks to be taken into the kitchen. Occupant leads offender to the kitchen sink where they are asked to empty the cupboard while he checks the tap. Offender is disturbed by a witness entering the house and makes off empty handed.

1 male described as white, ‘polish’ looking, f508 tall, stocky build, dark short hair, 30yrs. Wearing blue/red/white checked shirt, blue trousers and carrying glasses.

When answering the door, always use a door chain, check who is there by looking through a window or door viewer and always ask for identification – IF IN DOUBT KEEP THEM OUT!
Don’t do business or accept services from a cold caller on the telephone or at the door
Remind people to lock all doors and windows securely
