Bogus Callers hit twice in Higher Broughton and in Seedley
2 men posing as being from the water board have gained entry to two houses in the last week.

In both instances they said they need to 'check the system' or they were dealing with a pipe burst in the area. Once in each of the houses they have checked the taps and ask for help from the occupant.
One male is described as 'Eastern Europen' looking, 5'10", stocky build. The other male was described as Polish looking, short dark hair, 30yrs old wearing a blue/red/white checked shirt and blue trousers.
Please remember that anyone working for United Utilities would not ask to come into your home, if they use the phrase 'water board' you should not let them in under any circumstances and ring the Police immediately on 999. United Utilities are the only water provider in the North West. The best advice is to think, if you're not expecting anyone, don't answer the door.
If you have any information please ring the independent Charity, Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
