Salford police announce big crime drop
Latest crime figures for the last 12 months show a dramatic decrease of more than 15 per cent when compared to the previous year meaning 4,114 fewer people have fallen victim to criminals.

Burglary has been reduced by 21 per cent over the past year equating to 461 fewer victims of this distressing crime. Theft of and from motor vehicles has been reduced by 18 per cent and serious violent crime by 18 per cent meaning 841 and 48 fewer victims respectively.

Chief Superintendent Kevin Mulligan Commander for Greater Manchester Police’s Salford Division said: “We have made significant reductions in all areas of crime over the past 12 months and are determined to bring them down even further. Criminals can be assured that we will be targeting them even further over the coming months to stop their selfish behaviour from spreading misery in our communities.

“Our latest neighbourhood survey shows that 77 percent of people agree that police and Salford City Council are dealing with anti-social behaviour and the crime issues that matter to them. This is leading to them feeling safer in their homes and communities and increasing their confidence in local officers. We will continue to work towards the Policing Pledge and ensure we provide a first class service to the law-abiding majority in Salford."
