Salford residents encouraged to watch over their neighbourhood
Salford residents are being encouraged to become part of the Neighbourhood and Home Watch family and work together with police to ensure their community is safe.

Officers from Salford North Neighbourhood Policing Team will be talking to residents on the Valley and Wardley estates in Swinton about the benefits of being a Home Watch coordinator as well as offering free property marking and discussing how the community can influence how their area is policed.

It is all part of Neighbourhood and Home Watch week, which runs from 14 – 20 June.

Police community support officer (PCSO) Angela Haydock said: “We have a number of Neighbourhood and Home Watch coordinators within Salford but we are actively looking for volunteers to sign up and help us beat crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.

“The main objective of Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch is to help people protect themselves and their property by improving home security, reporting suspicious behaviour to police as well as creating a community spirit.”

If you are interested in becoming a coordinator, contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team.
