   Scooter thefts lead police to crackdown
Police are urging motorcycle and scooter owners to secure their vehicles following a number of thefts in Salford.
Over the past month, 12 vehicles have been stolen during the late evenings and early hours of the day. Now officers are issuing advice on how owners can protect their property. Fiona James, crime reduction advisor for Greater Manchester Police’s Salford Division said: “Thieves are purposely looking for motorcycles or scooters that can be easily stolen so it is important you try and make it as difficult as possible for them to take your vehicle. “My advice is to use security devices such as brake lever locks, disc locks and an alarm. An opportunist bike thief will always think twice if the alarm starts sounding.
