Young people in Ordsall benefit from cash
A community project in Ordsall has been awarded more than £1,000.

The Ordsall Community Café Project has received £1,440.40 from the Greater Manchester High Sheriffs Police Trust following a bid by Salford Crime Reduction Advisors.

The money will be used to teach music skills to local young people.

Crime Reduction Advisor, Fiona James from the Salford Division of Greater Manchester Police said: “The Ordsall Community Café Project does a lot of positive work with local young people and I’m delighted that they have been awarded this money.

“As well as deterring young people away from antisocial behaviour, the community project enables them to learn skills that they might not ordinarily have the chance to and it’s great that they will be able to benefit from the money.”

Samantha Harvey from the Ordsall Community Café Project said: "I'm really grateful for the assistance of the police in helping us to get this money. It will make a massive difference to the young people of Ordsall and will help us to continue the work we do within the local community."
