Great talking to you today about Salford. I was born on Allen St, Hanky Park area. The place we used to play was the Rec. I remember Kitty Jacksons, that was the place you couldn't buy anything on tic which meant we didn't shop there often. I remember the square having only the one telephone which 'everyone' used because no-one had a phone. I went to Saint James', Saint Lawrences and Saint Alberts. It's funny that you remember the 'cornetto'? place because I used to stop off there on the way home from school hoping to get the broken ones. I used to stand and watch the three ladies working the pedal operated machine a bit like a potter's wheel but fed the mix onto a metal cone shaped spinning top to make the shape. I will be including a few things for you which you might be able to use.
