GPs take over Hope pub for a day
On Friday 30 July The Hope on Eccles Old Road will become the healthiest place in Salford, as health professionals run the bar for a day. At The Hope, formerly known as the Inn of Good Hope (pictured), staff from a GP practice in Eccles and Little Hulton will push the message about drinking responsibly and knowing your limits. Salford Health Matters will be pulling pints from 12pm-3pm apeople, and other practitioners from SHM will be circulating on the other side of the bar, handing out literature about alcohol units and taking blood pressure readings. The idea is to warn people about the dangers of binge-drinking – a growing problem in the UK amongst the younger generation and particularly prevalent at holiday time – and show them that you can drink responsibly.
