Private sewers - the law is changing
From the 1st October 2011 new government legislation will see water companies in England take the ownership of many sewer pipes which are currently privately owned. In the North West of England United Utilities are taking over an additional 32,000 kilometres of private sewer pipes. As a result, City West will be directing all customer enquiries regarding blocked drains to United Utilities. When customers call the Service Centre to report a repair there will be an extra option to report a blocked drain. You can find out more about the changes by visiting the United Utilities website at the link below. Source: City West Housing.
