Handyperson duo clean up in Beechfarm
From March this year Alan Lyons and Peter McGee have been Salix Homes’ very own handymen! They have been working together to improve our low rise blocks by carrying out a range of different services and correcting issues identified by customers and Low Rise Caretaking teams, such as paintwork and minor repairs. The Caretaking team, handypersons and Neighbourhood Officer Tony Smith have worked together to consult with customers, gathering opinions on work that customers wanted to see carried out on their block. Customers are seeing real and more importantly speedy improvements to their homes thanks to the duo, and have had a massive impact with the improvements that they have made. So far, on the Beech Farm estate our handyperson duo has: * Painted all the walls within the communal areas * Fixed Salix Homes signs on the walls adjacent to the main entrances, making addresses easier to identify * Painted stairs and rails * Painted front doors and storage doors so that they match! * Installed notice boards to each entrance advising of the Caretaking Supervisors contact details. * Carried out small jobs on request. For example fixing external flower boxes or fitting door numbers to properties.
