Teenage girl caught with knife gets ASBO
By: Mark Wright A 16-year-old-girl caught with a knife on the streets of Salford has been given an antisocial behaviour order. Chelsea Locker of 21 Atherton Way in Eccles was stopped in October by police in an undercover car near her local Aldi supermarket on Albert Street. She was carrying a kitchen knife which she tried to hide in the bushes with the help of a friend, heard the court. The Magistrate was also told how Locker terrorised a man who witnessed her behaviour and reported her to the police. In November she shouted abuse at the man and banged on a window at his home in Eccles. The court then heard how later that evening she went back to the property drunk and hurled a plant pot and a brick through his window. The two year order was granted with the help of Salford City Council's crime and disorder legal team who presented evidence to the courts. It was issued after Locker pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and damage to a property. The Magistrate also gave Locker a 12 month supervision order and a curfew banning her from being out between 7pm and 7am. Locker must also not act antisocially in public, throw or attempt to throw objects to cause damage to property or drink in public place other than a licensed premises when she is 18-years-old. Don Brown, Salford City Council's head of community safety said: "We have a duty to help protect the city against crime and antisocial behaviour and we will take the appropriate action where it's necessary on behalf of our residents. "I hope this is a reminder to people that we will not tolerate antisocial behaviour or criminal activity of any kind."
