Celebrity chef, Phil Vickery from This Morning is fronting the SPAM Cook of the Year and is appealing for entries from the North West. The third SPAM® Cook of the Year competition is being launched to encourage families to get back into the kitchen and experiment with convenient yet high-quality food, without having to waste their evening slaving away in the kitchen.
People have from 18th January to 31st August 2010 to upload their very own SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham recipes, together with a picture, via the SPAM website.
All recipes will then be put to an online vote to determine the finalists from across seven regions: Scotland, North East, North West, the Midlands/Anglia, South East, South West and Wales.
The budding chefs behind these recipes will subsequently be sent to London
to take part in a 'cook-off' at the Good Housekeeping Institute in London on 12th October.
The winner will get a two night stay for two including dinner, breakfast and a spa treatment courtesy of Oxford Hotels and the winning recipe will inspire a dish on one of the hotel's menus. The two runners up will get a one night stay for two and breakfast, again courtesy of
Oxford Hotels.
