The Lady Gardener: Irene Scowcroft Part 1 of 2
by Emma Davis

What Irene Scowcroft doesn't know about organic gardening probably isn't worth knowing.

She's been organic gardening since the mid-90s, using chemical-free
alternatives to pesticides and keeping the slugs and bugs away.

Organically grown plants taste much better as well, says Irene.

And organic gardening is not just about growing plants. Gardening is a great way to relax and Irene has all the answers for anyone interested in harvesting the best that a small garden space has to offer, growing fruit and vegetables, cutting your food bills and enjoying your outside space.

If there is enough interest in this we'd like to make a regular feature of Irene's gardening tips, so please comment.

If you use broken egg shells or oats that's meant to keep slugs and snails off your veggies Hannah x

I love garlic anyway, don't see the problem in stinking out the house with it! DaveM
