App to help you recycle
Recycle for Greater Manchester (R4GM) has launched its brand new free iPhone app this week to help make it easier for residents to reduce, re-use and recycle their waste.

Whether it’s finding your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or bike re-use scheme, the R4GM App has the information at your finger tips. Got a piece of furniture you no longer want, or need a reminder of what you can put in your recycling container, use the App as a quick and easy way to find out.

Councillor Neil Swannick, Chair of GMWDA commented on the App: “Recycle for Greater Manchester’s iPhone App makes it easier for Greater Manchester residents to access useful information on the go, to help reduce, re-use and recycle their waste. This is one step of many, to help towards Greater Manchester fulfilling its ambition of zero waste to landfill.”

The App is also a fantastic way to find out what campaigns and events in Greater Manchester are helping to limit our environmental impact and could also help you save money.

With the growth in Smartphones, more and more people are choosing to access information through this type of medium, making it a logical progression to launch our own version. The Recycle for Greater Manchester App is free to download, so what are you waiting for, waste no time and down load it today by searching Recycle for Greater Manchester. It is also available on the iPad and iPod touch.

See Recycle for Greater Manchester at the Trafford Centre on the 4th and 5th June where we will be joining in with World Environment Day. For more information, please visit www.recycleforgreatermanchester.com.
