Update: Lib Dems, Labour choose Pendlebury by-election candidates
Salford's Liberal Democrats have chosen their candidate for the Pendlebury by-election, to be held in a month's time.

After the death of Labour Councillor Maureen Lea on 17th January, the Pendlebury ward now has a vacant seat. The by-election will be held on 16th March.

The candidate's name was announced last night (Thursday 12th February) as local man Paul Gregory, who is the head of Grosvenor Media - a web design company on Agecroft Road in Pendlebury.

The picture on the right shows Paul being congratulated on his selection by the Leader of the Liberal Democrats Group, Councillor Norman Owen, who currently holds the Claremont ward council seat.

Labour have also chosen their replacement for Councillor Lea in the shape of John Ferguson (pictured right), a retiree from Salford.

How the hell did a "homosexual" get into this discussion?

"As a homosexual"? Do homosexuals really talk like that? I don't think so. I'm gay, and though we don't do things "as a group", I don't think unless you were born in the 1920s you would identify yourself "as a homosexual". More BNP propaganda!
