Deputy Leader of Commons - Barbara Keeley MP - Part 1
In her first interview since being promoted to Deputy Leader of the House of Commons, Worsley MP Barbara Keeley discusses her new areas of responsibility, and the changes she'll be making to how Parliament works. It's quite an appointment to be made Deputy Leader. It's quite a recent addition to government, but in the past, the position of Leader of the House of Commons has been held by Anthony Eden, Winston Churchill and Stanley Baldwin. Harriet Harman (cousin to Neville Chamberlain) currently sits as Leader of the House. The Leader of the House of Commons sits in the Cabinet alongside the Prime Minister, so it's definitely a position of power and influence. And Ms Keeley tells SalfordOnline what changes she'll be making to the machinery of government. Due to problems with spam only SalfordOnline members can now leave comments.
