Richard Carvath: Independent PPC - Part 1
Reporter: Tom Rodgers
Camera: Momo Omari
In the first in a three-part look at the candidates for the Salford seat at the 2010 General Election, we interview Richard Carvath, who stands as an Independent. Mr Carvath considers Hazel Blears' position to be untenable following her headline part in the MP's expenses scandal and her withdrawal from the Cabinet.
Here he runs us through a couple of his core policies, were he to be elected to represent Salford.
These interviews are intended as information for the people of Salford to show you what your political candidates actually stand for.

I want Britain to remain Christian– or return to – the way it has traditionally been. I accept that Britain always will have ethnic minorities and have no problem with this as long as they remain minorities and do not change nor seek to change the fundamental culture and identity of the indigenous peoples of the British Isles, Can anyone imagine Saudi Arabia allowing the mass immigration of Christians, so that in a few decades it would no longer be an Islamic country? I think not, I just fear that we are now so far gone that it almost impossible to reverse, or is it? |

I've watched it all and with the exception on one question that Mr Carvath denies the direct quotation but then goes on to confirm that in his view education is grooming. The interview has not approached any of the very real concerns that people in the various groups that could be affected by Mr Carvath's polices. He openly admits that he would like to lock up homosexuals, wants to restrict the career choice for women, doesn't believe in "multiculturalism" and wants to reduce what we can read and watch to less than is available for 15 year old currently!! I just wish that the interview had touched on these issues because they are what separates Mr Carvath's views from whats acceptable for the vast majority of the populations. Sorry Tom but 3/10 at the very most. |

To the last Guest entry, this article is clearly marked Part 1, I think your critism of the interviewer is out of order until you view the rest of the interview. |

I'm sorry Tom but this isn't a fair representation, some of his views are even more extreme than those of the BNP on a broader range of topics and a clip like this if thats all someone sees could lead them into a false idea. Everyone knows that some of his views will totally put people off (again think BNP and their views on race, it doesn't matter how sensible their other policies are they won't ever vote for them) and the same is true of Mr Carvath. At least some of the pertinent questions that people will want to know should have been included. |

I posted the first one but no idea why it's been copied again ?? I sent in a number of questions and had a response stating they'd been received and would be asked.
My point is that his radical views on issues like sexuality and his wanting the teaching of evolution changed to that of Christianity (ie we didn't evolve from apes but where created by god as we are) is something that parents would want to know.
Women police officers would find it a key item of his policies that he would want to have them removed from service. People that enjoy films that have any even partial nudity (America pie etc) would find it important information that he wants them banned.
His views on any women that have glamor photos (even fully covered ones like the students in the MEN) are all "prostitutes" that should be saving themselves for their husbands is something that most of the women of Salford would really like to know. He is a blatant sexist homophobes by any normal persons standards and the fact he hides it behind "Christian viewpoints" is neither here nor there to the people he wants to discriminate against is it! |

Richard Carvath is obviously a very deluded, naive person with delusions of grandeur,it's obvious he has no understanding of how local goverment issues work and is totally out of touch with people of Salford and Eccles, where does he live by the way?.He will work for the minimum wage?,of course you will Richard.Stick to your industrial cleaning job if you want to clean up Salford and Eccles and stop being a complete idiot.Surprised you gave the clown air time, and yes I know it is a democracy blah,blah,blah... |

I can't believe that none of his views on women not being allowed to work in the police, anti Islamic, wanting to criminalize homosexuality , calling for the banning of all papers with a page3 type picture and all programs like sex in the City as well as severe restrictions on the internet no to mention his description of all unmarried people who have sex as anti moral shaggers in public was ever mentioned !!!
The interview is the equivalent of Interviewing a BNP candidate and never mentioning their views on race!!!
Do you really think it's irrelevant that he calls homosexual people "Hypocritical perverts, bum lickers and potential child abusers" in public ! Is his referral of Islam as "an Evil religion" with all its followers engaged in a jihad whether they admit it or not (in his core policies) not a serious issue for all Islamics in Salford?? I can't understand why these issues where not touched on, here is a man who a few weeks ago accused teachers who teach sex education as "Grooming kids for anal abuse" on his own blog and the fact that he attends the odd meeting "when he has time" is a long way from being of as much interest to real people! |

Incredible.why did you not ask this moron the pertinent questions?.Look at his blog with images of Spitfires, three heraldic lions etc,he is a complete and utter fascist. You had the chance to nail him,and let it slip, who are these groups he attends but will not mention?,fairly obvious the far right.
You should have let him dig his own proverbial grave by asking him questions on his more extreme views, then he would be exposed for the creep that he is.I look forward to hearing feedback on this interview,no doubt Richard will reply?. |
