Worsley MP summer casework, part 2 - mini motos and Cutacre

by Tom Rodgers

In part two of this interview with Barbara Keeley MP we discuss the mini motorbikes that are still plaguing estates around Little Hulton and Walkden, as well as looking at the opencast mining site at Cutacre in Over Hulton, where a new industrial park is planned.

While the Bolton site could provide jobs for many people in northwest Salford, the 140 hectare Cutacre plan has yet to be approved.

Greenbelt land that divides Little Hulton from Over Hulton could be swallowed up by this new plan, and residents from the Manchester Road West area who were looking forward to the area being rid of heavy industrial usage (and its accompanying noise, traffic and air quality problems) may find that they are disappointed.

Local residents in Little Hulton are able to have their say by ringing 01204 333218, and the plans can be viewed online at www.bolton.gov.uk/corestrategy or in the Planning Reception at Bolton Town Hall.

Comments should be sent by e-mail to ldfconsultation@bolton.gov.uk or by post to Spatial Planning Team, 5th Floor, Bolton Town Hall, Bolton, BL1 1RU. The deadline for comments is Friday 28th August.
