Little Hulton theft sparks hunt for necklace
Little Hulton burglars may have made off with more than they thought when they stole a valuable piece of jewellery. Thieves broke in through the back door of a house on Wildbrook Road in Little Hulton on Friday 6th January. They ransacked both floors of the house before heading to the main bedroom, taking a gold necklace from a drawer in the upstairs room. The distinctive link-chain gold necklace is thought to be worth in the region of six to seven thousand pounds. The necklace has a circular loop with an eagle in the centre. It is believed the theives knew what they were looking for; despite a spate of burgalaries in Little Hulton over the Christmas period, no other homes were targeted in this particular attack. Police are however asking the local public to be on their guard after more attempted burglaries on 13th January. An unknown offender tried to break in through the rear window of a house on Carrfield Avenue in Little Hulton in the early hours of the morning of Friday 13th. Thankfully he got away with nothing. A vehicle was stolen from Owlwood Drive in Little Hulton after offenders broke in through the front door of a house on Friday evening. They stole a purse and car keys. The car was recovered shortly afterwards. Officers in Little Hulton are now appealing for the public's help to find the stolen jewellery.
