Commuters face delays across all Metrolink services
by Aran Burton
Passengers on the Metrolink are facing further delays today as a result of problems on the network. Points failure at Trafford Bar led to delays on services across the network This morning's disruption is the latest in a series of problems affecting the service. Yesterday's rush-hour saw delays on services to Eccles and Broadway following points failure in Cornbrook. Commuters also experienced delays on several services on Tuesday and Wednesday last week Philip Purdy, TfGM’s Metrolink Director, said: “We’re very sorry for the disruption Metrolink passengers have experienced today. Unfortunately we have experienced some problems with the points on part of the network today. “We understand how frustrating this is for passengers, particularly as there have been other incidences of disruption on the network in the last week or so, and we are grateful to Metrolink users for their patience. “We’ll be working closely with Metrolink’s operator, MRDL, to look into what has caused the recent problems and will take all possible steps to resolve them for the future.” Metrolink has offered commuters its sincere apologies and said a 12-minute service is operating on the Eccles/MediaCityUK line.
