Music Industry Learning - Salford's own music academy
Video by Tom Rodgers

Chris Brophy, the Grammy-award nominated Salford producer and songwriter has started the world's first virtual music academy - and it's completely free for unemployed people in Salford.

Chris explains:

"Our academy is virtual because you don't have to leave your seat... There are no classes to attend as such; you simply learn at your own pace from your own place! All you need is access to a computer and the Internet. Training and support is provided by phone, SMS, email and even instant messengers by successful music pro's who have achieved number one chart status and much more! Get exclusive advice from people who have worked with some of the world's biggest artists.

"Whether your dream is to be a songwriter, composer, DJ, promoter, producer, manager, sound engineer, singer or looking to get a record deal or even set up your own record company, the academy can help provide you with the key skills you need to move into employment in the music industry.

"And now for the best bit... it's all completely free [if you are in receipt of benefits and live in Salford, UK]. Otherwise it's only £140 and for that you'll receive one-to-one support for upto 36 weeks, over £60 worth of 'in-demand' books written by us and weekly job updates by email."

If you want to enrol on the course or to get in touch with Chris, call 0161 788 8300 or email chris.brophy@musicindustrylearning.com with a little about yourself.
