Jon Christos and Jenny Williams at Salford Proms 2009
by Tom Rodgers

In a series of duets designed exclusively for Salford Proms, Jon Christos and Jenny Williams (Duetto) sung together to open the biggest live classical music event of the year, with Nessun Dorma and a new Andrea Bocelli composition on the bill.

Based in the North-West, Jenny studied at Aquinas College in Stockport before progressing to the University of Central Lancashire where she gained a degree in Music Theatre.

However it was a chance meeting with Jon Christos and his manager Perry Hughes that convinced her that music really was her future. She was signed to Jon's Roots Music Group Artist Academy to continue her development and she continues to study with the Monton tenor.

After the success of Jon's debut album "Northern Light" in 2006, his solo follow up album "Artist" is due for release later this year, and work has already begun on Jenny's debut album, with plans for a Duetto album soon to follow.

absolutely superb perfomances throughout. However the act that really stole the show for myself was Jenny Williams and Jon Christos, what an outstanding performance from the talented young duo!! i hope to see them next year with a bigger performance slot as they were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Wonderful pre-show entertainment, the only downside was that we didn't see more of Jon Christos and Jenny williams during the main show, and what a shame that Jenny didn't take a bow at the end of the evening or be included in the closing thank you's. look forward to seeing them again next year. really enjoyable evening, and fun had by all.
