What: Sounds from the Other City - one day festival of new music feat Chrome Hoof, Damon & Naomi, Egyptian Hip Hip, Divorce and MANY MANY MORE.
Where: Chapel Street, Salford, various venues in The Kings Arms, The Pint Pot, The Salvation Army and Islington Mill. When: May 2, 2010, 3pm - 3am. Salfords only new music festival has hosted shows by names like Marina And the Diamonds and The Tings Tings. Founded in 2005, more than 40 new, live acts have performed annually since on the May Bank Holiday weekend, across six, seldom-used venues along Chapel Street. Last year saw a stage hosted by Radio Ones new music lover, Huw Stephens, with festival appearances by bands spanning the sonic spectrum from Talibam to Mayming, the Lexie Mountain Boys to Whisky Cats, Hooker to Solar Fire Trio. The twelve-hour-aural-orgy is moving west this year taking in the Kings Arms, Islington Mill, the Salvation Armys music hall, St Philips Church and the Pint Pots two-tiered venue on the University of Salford Campus.
