Salford Choral seek new Musical Director
by News Team
The independent Salford Choral Society is looking to recruit a Musical Director to lead the group. The choir needs a self motivated and enthusiastic music director: "Our members love the classical choral favourites," said Kathy McNaughton, Secretary, "but are willing to be challenged when it comes to more experimental and diverse choral works. "Established in 1947, we are looking for a music director who will work with us to retain and enhance our position as a leading choir in North West England." The Music Director will be expected to take our weekly rehearsals and prepare and conduct the choir in performance with professional orchestras, soloists and/or accompanists as the programme requires. The choir's season begins the first Wednesday in September and ends with the Annual General Meeting mid July. There are five concerts in a season. Rehearsals are each Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in St Philips Church, Salford. For further details about the position and how to apply please contact 0161 790 5448. The closing date for completed applications is 16th April 2010.
