Live music in Eccles , August roundup
The live music scene in Eccles seems to be on the rise again, if it ever went away that is, here is a quick look at what live music will be playing in Eccles pubs this month. The Oddfellows on Church Street has a long tradition of rock bands playing there each Sunday, this week they present TFL who play classic rock numbers. Coming soon each Friday evening there will be music from such artistes as Glen Peters and Chris Heywood, whilst Wednesday 11th August will see Elvis impersonator, Big Jim White playing a tribute to Elvis on the 33rd anniversary of his death. Saturday 21st August will see local band Pearl Divers supported by Hidden Gem play there. The Town Hall on Church Street has its regular Thursday jam nights and this Saturday will see Dark Angel and Honesty play an acoustic set. Wangies on Liverpool Road, Patricroft have started an open mic night each Monday which encourages local musicians to get up and give a tune and is going from strength to strength. The White Horse, Gilda Brook has its wonderful Acoustic Armageddon evenings on a Tuesday whilst Charlie White puts on regular Thursday night gigs. It is good to see live music being played and encouraged to play in the pubs, lets face we have enough of them in Eccles(pubs). If you go to any of these gigs why not review them and send them in to us at newsdesk@salfordonline.com, also if you hear of any local music events we should be covering please get in touch with us at the same address.
