Drum beats, Festival time here at Chimney Pot Park
by Tom Rodgers
Despite the typical grey summer we've had over the past month, it's still festival season in Salford. Take the Walkden Festival for example. Absolutely tipping it down with rain, but everyone there at Parr Fold Park on the day was dancing and loving it (see photos below). This Saturday there's a chance to spread the love with a cracking selection of Salford's best bands. Known for their commitment to giving slots to the most entertaining and best live bands in Salford, the eagerly awaited Langworthy Summer Festival is back on at Chimney Pot Park this weekend. Rapper Briggzy brings the Salford hip-hop crew the Misfits to the stage for their first ever live gig. The Misfits will be dropping some beats and spitting some bars for you, and they include The Illatant, Briggzy, Kamo, Notes & Rick Charles. Also hitting the Langworthy Summer Festival this year are SalfordOnline favourites Death to The Strange (see link below) plus The Daldini's and Suite57 will be performing for all the family. Join them from 12pm - 4pm. Photo: Drumroots, performers at the Langworth Summer Festival in 2005
