Review: Courteeners at the Salford Lads Club, Ordsall
by Ella Gainsborough

The atmosphere was lively and excited as Liam Fray from the Courteeners played an exclusive acoustic gig at the Salford Lads Club.

He didn’t disappoint with a set including new song, old favourites and the first live performance of Push Yourself.

The gig was intimate but the 300-strong crowd, including the other members of the Courteeners, were enthusiastic and made for a great atmosphere.

Fray played well over his set time and interacted with the crowd to great effect, coming down to talk to fans after the gig was finished.

In the first ever gig at the Salford Lads Club, Fray gave a performance which will be hard to follow, epecially with Courteeners guitarist Daniel ‘Conan’ Moores joining Fray on stage for Will it be the way Forever?.

However, after the success of the night Salford Lads Club are already planning to start doing two concerts a year.

Liam asked for people to stop taking pictures during one or two songs I think he just wanted us to know how important the songs are to him (maybe?) Yes, please!

Is it right that you were not allowed to take photos on the night, if so why?
