A Salford song for Christmas 2011
Can you top last year's original Christmas song by Albert Thompson, and write a Salford Song for Christmas? In 2010 we put out our first ever call for musicians/artists/layabouts to put pen to paper, pick up their instrument of choice, and write an original Christmas song. Last year's well-deserved winner was Albert Thompson, an ex-Docker who ran away to sea at the age of 15 but happily came back to Salford to share his musical and acting talent with the world. The best original song will get a HD SalfordOnline video dedicated to them, filmed and edited by Tom Rodgers (yes, sadly enough, if you win you will have to meet him - Ed.) and posted on SalfordOnline, promoted via our Vimeo and Youtube channels, and to our Facebook and Twitter audiences. Deadline - 19th December. If no-one enters, there is a possibility that the SalfordOnline team will have to make up and perform some kind of horrific Christmas rap, so do the decent thing and get your ideas in quick!
