OK, this page may not seem as though it’s about Salford but in fact it is because by teaming up with the best and most reliable news organisation in the world we are highlighting the services of what will become a major Salford employer when, in 2011, the BBC relocates several of its departments to Media City. It is expected that the move will involve some 1500 jobs in areas such as BBC Sport, Radio Five Live and Children's BBC. In addition 800 staff presently based at the BBC's Oxford Road HQ in Manchester are also scheduled to relocate to what will become the UK's first purpose built media city, a centre of excellence in broadcasting and new media industries.
