Monton Lighthouse - Part 4
By Tony Flynn

In this episode, Phil tells us how he had to gain permission to build the lighthouse from nearby residents and also Peel Holdings who own the Bridgewater canal, there were no objections from anybody mainly because they thought it would never be built!

Even though the lighthouse is not a lighthouse officially, it is recognised by Trinity House, the body responsible for the upkeep of all lighthouses in Britain, in fact Phil has been invited down to London to give talks to the British Association of Lighthouse Keepers(B.A.L.K.) which seems a bit odd on reflection.

More to come in the next few days.
